Has anyone ordered anything online during this christmas period and have you received it yet?I ordered Metroid Prime 3 last Saturday from HMV.com and got an e-mail saying 2-5 working days. Today is the 4th day and nothing. I start my work holiday tomorrow and I don't wanna be loathing at home not doing anything. Anyway, what are your experiences with online shopping during this time? You can always catch a deal at amazon. You just put all the games you want on a wishlist, check the wishlist DAILY, and watch the prices fall. I've caught one game at $12-off, another at $10-off. And with an amazon prime subscription, I get everything in 2 days.

Rockstar's word on GTA Wii
Rockstar have finally laid the official smack down regarding developments of Grand Theft Auto on Wii. As a quick recap, we've seen Rockstar (and it's parent Take Two) move from being a non-Nintendo club into a company focusing on Nintendo as much as anything else. Titles such as Bully and Manhunt 2 have shown the commitment of Rockstar to the Wii Platform. But as far as Grand Theft Auto goes? Company chairman Strauss Zelnick summed it up quickly saying that ''there are other titles better suited to the Wii than Grand Theft Auto.'' during the forth quarter financial results conference call. And after a bit of thinking,the mature content doesn't seems like a problem is there is Manhunt 2 for the Wii already.GTA is violent,but never as much as Manhunt!

Why not make a GTA for the Wii? GTA is one of the highest selling series and the Wii is the highest selling system sounds like a match to me.
Knowing Take-Two, we'd only get a port of a PSP or PS2 GTA anyway.

Okay, stupid topic title, everyone does, but anyway, I'm just going to prove it's wrong. These numbers are from VGchartz. They might not be 100% accurate, but they're the best I can find. If you find any better, I'll switch to them :) Okay, but on to my real point. Combined software sales for Wii and DS pr 15th december - worldwide - about 7.2 million. Nintendo sold 4.2 million games. This means that there were 3 million games sold, that were 3rd party, combined for DS and Wii. The combined software for PsP,Ps3 and Ps2 isis 4 million. Sony has sold 776k games. Which means that they have 3,25 million 3rd party game sales. Microsoft has with the X360 sold 2,7 million games the last week. 700k of those are from Microsoft. That means 2 million are from 3rd parties. In total, on all the main platforms the companies have, Nintendo beats Microsoft, but comes second to Sony. If we divide it by the number of platforms, we get 1,1 mill pr Sony gaming machine, 1,5 pr Nintendo gaming machine and 2 million pr Microsoft machine. That means, that Nintendo platforms sell aboutas many 3rd party games as Sony and Microsoft ones. I'm sure I'm going to get wall of text'd here - so don't bother. By doing that you're confirming the fact that you're not really intrested in statistics, and therefore you have no reason to answer. Over half of Nintendo's sales are first party. Thats ridiculous becouse Nintendo only makes so many games compared to all the 3rd party publishers. Nintendo has like 10 games out total while 3rd party still has probably over a hundred. Despite that, Nintendo still manages to outsell its all the other non-nintendo games. If you look at Xbox and PS, they 3rd party dominates first party, which it should because of the ammount of games released.
Looking down this list the first 3rd party game thats on the Wii is Guitar heros III which is in 30th place (there are 6 nintendo games above it alone), The same game sold almost twice as many to PS2 users and a decent proportion more to 360 users. What does that tell youIsnt this just symptomatic of a console that appeals to the casual gamer?

From there 3rd party titles have grown even more on the DS.The Wii has had stronger support from third party devs right from the start and more devs are jumping on board sooner then the DS. Just as with the DS though you're seeing more and more third party titles purchased for the Wi.The Wii is the best hardware this gen and there's room for everyone to make money on it. If the Wii's numbers were 5 or 6 million units worldwide by now you could make the argument that there are factors pushing away 3rd party devs. That's not the case though, the Wii has many many more sales and a wider maket for all devs (Nintendo and 3rd party)
Bring great and original games with a good marketing plan and it will sell. Cut something in that sentence and the game will flop.

It's my favorite game of all time with a very engrossing and epic storyline. The graphics and presentation are pretty bland, but the gameplay is solid. In one word, it's amazing.

Godfather, only game on Wii to have got fighting controls right so far and it's a long fun game.

harvest moon FTW
anyone hyped up for the harvest moon game coming out in february? i haven't seen anyone even talking about it and i'm dissapointed. ive been a fan of these harvest moon games forever and the use of the wiimote seems pretty flippen sweet.harvest moon FTW
I love harvest moon but really hope this game is A GOOD console hm game. I mean... I don't know maybe it's just me and my love for HM64, but AWL I admit was good but they made too many huge revisions to the framework, I hated MM's land management and how the characters would leave if you didn't talk to them every single day, and well thats all... I jus hope this one is a good oneharvest moon FTW

PLus, I wish weather would do more stuff like destroy part of your farm such as plants and building at times. Also, hopefully this game allows you to get sick(I think they said it did) for being in the rain to much and such.
Harvest Moon 64 was probably the best simulation game I've ever played.. I have no idea how they fit it all onto that cartridge. He is a bit difficult with the daredevil comet...but I do the twirl when there's two bombs and you can slam two into him at the same time making the defeat relatively quick.

lava spire Dare Devil I did in one tryBouldergeist took me like 10 xDthe thing that got me was the mountains coming upI always tried to jump over them as they came up but they hit me D:lava spire was pretty easyThe thing I thought was hardest was in the final bowser level with the bullet bills, Luigis Coins (purple coins of Toy Time), and whenever they put the star in that ball you have to balance on. I hate that stupid thing -.-

Commodore 64 would be interesting... and plus there were reports before launch that it would be part of the VC. I'd love to see a US launch of MSX games too.

well i purchased a set-up from targets called ''psyclone essentials''. and i dont really like em. the cradle looks pretty cool and all- seeing how it lights up while its charging- but the overall performance or the life of the rechargeable batteries isnt that long. i play ALOT of smg and re4 and i say i have 2 recharge almost everyday. if not im bound 2 suffer some dead battery obstacle. the idea kicks a$$, the set-up looks killer w/ the wii, but the battery life just drowns the whole asthetics concept. plus this set-up will run you around $30 bones so yea. soa little admonisment on thepsyclone essentials grab. try another brand or wait for some first party equip. or just go w/ the other suggestions the other guys give ya...hope this helps dude!!

Halo is rated M.Shooter-wise: Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (tight controls + 32 player online) and Battalion Wars 2 (lead squads through battle) are both rated T.I don't really know of any scary games... Halo is rated M.Shooter-wise: Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (tight controls + 32 player online) and Battalion Wars 2 (lead squads through battle) are both rated T.I don't really know of any scary games... I don't really know. Zelda: TP and Metroid Prime 3 are really atmospheric and somewhat dark, both are rated T.

I would suggest Metroid Prime 3, although it's a little bit different than your typical shooter. A scary non mature game? I'm not sure those exist...

Animal Crossing Ideas and Wishes
I was talking to a buddy the other day about Animal Crossing for the 'Cube, and it got me thinking about how cool it would be if another Animal Crossing came out. It would be awesome if it had online villages and stuff, and if players could customize and make their own characters (they could be animals or people, either one). I wish towns were MUCH bigger, with A LOT of places to visit, and maybe islands or another locations where you could go to (not Wi-Fi, I mean in-game locations).I'd also love jobs and many entertaning tasks to do. Maybe an arcade where you could play minigames? That would be so cool.Finally, I'd love if it linked to the weather channel and changed the in-game weather conditions :D

I mean, I loved those real holidays that they had instead of the fake ones for the DS.. I hope they dont completely change the game either because I like the whole ''Animal Crossing Feeling'' that the original had. They can add a whole lot of things to it, as long as they still make it feel like you're playing an Animal Crossing game.

I've never played UC but I'd play it first, not because it might be ''dissapointing'' but because it goes through a lot of the resident evil story line that you may have missed out on and you can get a feel for some of the characters, that way when you play RE4 it'll be a lot better knowing who is who and what's going on. (although it's not necessary to play it first to understand, it just helps you get a feel for characters backstories)

RE4 is a far superior single player experience and overall game.
RE:UC is a great two player game, one player its fun and challenging but really falls under the 'pick up and play' game where you wouldn't put much time into compared to RE4.

Is not easy to compare them and, if you're a fan of the series you may love RE:UC, is great to see all the ''beloved'' locals and fight all of the battles and unveil the story behind Umbrella. In this case RE4 will be the icing on your RE cake.
If you're not an actual fan, then most likely you'll prefer RE4, wich is a great action game with excellent controls. RE:UC can be a good multiplayer and I think you could enjoy it the best with a friend, but it will be a lighter experience.

Both are fun, RE:UC is a light gun shooter, or in other terms, its like an on-rails shooter you would play in an arcade. Its fun, especially co-op. RE4 is different -- its a single player action/adventure third person shooter. Its easily one of the best games ever created. As far as which title is better, its obviously RE4, but both make good gaming experiences regardless.

actually i can tell you what the 360 in xbox 360 means. firstly they didnt want sony to have a 3 behind their name and microsoft to have a 2 due to the fact people would think the xbox would than be a inferior machine. secondly 360 as in it is an all in one machine. it can do everything. it includes every part of your life. hope that helps. but as for wii i was reading a japanese article and from what i got out of it it just means we as in us or whatever you prefer.

Nintendo already announced a bunch of games for 2008 that sound really good, like Mario Kart Wii. It colud be even better if the Wii had more 3rd party support, but the games that are out by now are enough for me.

Igot 26 wii games and i have no problem. What up with new gamers anyways back then it was about the fun if playing games. But then agian i grew up with the classics nes atri sms snes neogeo coleco ect. So what iam saying is as long if its fun iam happy what i play.

i think it depends on how much free time you have...i got the console in january and bc of my lack of time i have just being able to pass TP, RE4, Castlevania (VC) and super CV IV (VC). my bro also played ninja gaiden (VC) Beside that i have like 7 more games for VC (that have not even started or in the middle of the game) and severals for Wii, that imo are the good ones (MP3, SPM, star wars saga-have never play that before, so i got it; RE UC, Tomb Raider, Galaxy.. I think those are all) so when i finally passed all this they would be like 10 more for me to buy and play.Actually i`m thank full that they are not realese all together :lol: :P :oops:EDIT: thus i would get another console. Nintendo already announced a bunch of games for 2008 that sound really good, like Mario Kart Wii. It colud be even better if the Wii had more 3rd party support, but the games that are out by now are enough for me.

i think it depends on how much free time you have...i got the console in january and bc of my lack of time i have just being able to pass TP, RE4, Castlevania (VC) and super CV IV (VC). my bro also played ninja gaiden (VC) Beside that i have like 7 more games for VC (that have not even started or in the middle of the game) and severals for Wii, that imo are the good ones (MP3, SPM, star wars saga-have never play that before, so i got it; RE UC, Tomb Raider, Galaxy.. I think those are all) so when i finally passed all this they would be like 10 more for me to buy and play.Actually i`m thank full that they are not realese all together :lol: :P :oops:EDIT: thus i would get another console. Buy No More Heroes Campaign
In Feb. 2008 No More Heroes will be released. Even Though this tiltle will be greatly over shadowed by SSBB, this is going to be a hell of a title. I know i haven't played it but i read, seen, and watched articles, pictures and videos of this game.This game looks amazing and its one of those rare hardcore rated M game for the beloved Wii. YOU should support this game by buying it. I really want a sequel to be created, or if not a sequel anothr Hard core mature or teen game for the wii. there are tons of people that play online... as far as tournaments fromt the boards, you just make a room and password then post it on here and hope people join in, if you do it when the right people are online then it can be pretty fun. You might also want to post an hour or so before you make the room just so people know a GS game is gonna happen.

Oh, well then I can't really say. I've never personally played the Wii version, but I do know it's suppose to have less tracks, worse graphics, and no chat support in online multiplayer and there currently is no downloadable content. So that would make it not as good as the 360 version. But still, with out all that I can still imagine that the game is still good and it still plays as good. Even with less content I'd say go for it. It's an excelent game.

It seems to have the least amount of guitar problems (compare to the other systems WiFi controllers).
The tilt for star power (Wii exclusive?) is awesome.
The rock bot character (has a different name) is the coolest unlockable character and is exclusive to the Wii version.
Many of the songs are by the original artists (all versions).Bad
At this time there is no downloadable content. I don't know if downloadable content will be available for the Wii.

Other than the downloadable content, the tracks (as far as I know) are all the same.
Any graphical difference is pretty negligible because you're primarily watching circles run down the screen.
The guitar battles (3 in career mode), all versions, are the low point of the game. They mostly come down to what power-ups you get.As far as whether it's worth the money, I think it is.
if you've ever played a guitar hero game and liked it, then yes it's worth the money.

Does the game get boring you mean? Well, thats sorta a hard one. I mean, all games evwntually get sorta boring to me. It'll last you a while though. If it's your first guitar Hero game you'll be playing it for months. And multiplayer adds alot. And since it supports online multiplayer you'll always be able to do multiplayer even if you can't findd someone near by willing to play. It doesn't support voice chat though..... Even when you do get done with Guitar Hero III though, I can garentee you you'll picl it up every now and then still. It's an excelent game.

Oh, well then I can't really say. I've never personally played the Wii version, but I do know it's suppose to have less tracks, worse graphics, and no chat support in online multiplayer and there currently is no downloadable content. So that would make it not as good as the 360 version. But still, with out all that I can still imagine that the game is still good and it still plays as good. Even with less content I'd say go for it. It's an excelent game.

It's $10 less than the 360 or PS3 versions.
It seems to have the least amount of guitar problems (compare to the other systems WiFi controllers).
The tilt for star power (Wii exclusive?) is awesome.
The rock bot character (has a different name) is the coolest unlockable character and is exclusive to the Wii version.
Many of the songs are by the original artists (all versions).Bad
At this time there is no downloadable content. I don't know if downloadable content will be available for the Wii.

Other than the downloadable content, the tracks (as far as I know) are all the same.
Any graphical difference is pretty negligible because you're primarily watching circles run down the screen.
The guitar battles (3 in career mode), all versions, are the low point of the game. They mostly come down to what power-ups you get.As far as whether it's worth the money, I think it is.
if you've ever played a guitar hero game and liked it, then yes it's worth the money.

Does the game get boring you mean? Well, thats sorta a hard one. I mean, all games evwntually get sorta boring to me. It'll last you a while though. If it's your first guitar Hero game you'll be playing it for months. And multiplayer adds alot. And since it supports online multiplayer you'll always be able to do multiplayer even if you can't findd someone near by willing to play. It doesn't support voice chat though..... Even when you do get done with Guitar Hero III though, I can garentee you you'll picl it up every now and then still. It's an excelent game.

try wario ware. its fun, simple and in no way unfit for a little kid (no violence, etc). lego star wars is also great. my brother, 14, has it and we i play it with him occasionally. its a lot of fun, too.
