Mario + platformer + N64 graphics = it would still be popular.
The graphics in that game are pretty good and i think it is an alsome game, but i think that graphics might determine the way people hand pick there games but for me Mario Galexy is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, the graphics are nice and all but it's the game which makes it great, I mean Anubis 2 had SMG's graphics it wouldn't make it more popular then it is now, or at least to me.

The graphics of a game do have an impact on the way people perceive this game.If Mario Galaxy didn't have graphics as good as the ones it currently has, it would have been perceived as ''botched'' on the graphics departement.

i think it would be just as popular...simply b/c the level design is sooo fantastic and different from traditional platformer construction...and that whole gravity thing, different mario transformation, and other ''cooly'' features make this game wonderous with or without the graphics!!
No, most of the people these days like to see games with good graphics. If SMG didn't have the same good graphics, it wouldn't be as popular, but it would still be good for the ones who appreciate the game not for it's graphics but because of it's originality.
