OK, be honest, did u think samus was a chick? I didnt, until the endof the game where she took off her helmet. (I'm not sure if its the end of the game, but yeah, there she was, a chick!). Read only if you played the original NES ...
I played very briefly at my cousin's when I was very young, like ten minutes brief. I assumed it was a dude, and I thought his name was Metroid. Years later, I play SSB, and ask myself: ''Who's this Samus dude, he's like a Mega Man wannabe or something.'' Eventually I read about Metroid Prime in GI years later, found out it was a chick, bought and beat Metroid Fusion, and fell in love with the series. Yay.Read only if you played the original NES ...
Unfortunately I know this person called Justin Bailey so I wasn't surprised when I finally beat it the right way and saw Samus being a chick. I always thought it was funny that 'Zero Suit' samus took the same damage as the suited one. I remember saying to myself, I guess that power suit sucks...
hahha lol, i thought her name was metroid too. Actually i was dissapointed knowing metroid is the bad guy's name. :D
my friends and i were confused about Metroid character names until Metroid Prime.1st- We thought it starred a guy named Metroid2nd- We thought it starred a girl named Metroid.3rd- We thought it starred a girl named Justin BaileyThe only sure thing we knew was that the boss was named Mother Brain because of the Captain N tv show. When the whole Samus stuff came out with MP1, we were like oh that's her name.
Nope but I was very young, I later played Super metroid and I didn't realise until a couple of death scenes that Samus was a bit on the feminine side

I think it may have been in the original Metroid actually. I know you could play as her without the suit after you beat it.The first Metroid came out before Captain N did. The character in that show was named after the game, not the other way around.

I don't think anything about the game suggested it until the very end after Mother Brain dies.
