lol i just realised that now but here is what i think, Many people don't want ports because the developers could ruin the the controls or the graphics but lately we have seen developers do a better of porting games and making the games better. As for remakes i dont know if they you refering to of 2d games remakes or 3d game remakes but i beleive the reason for the 2d remakes because they beleive it could be very interesting in a 3d world and since the Wii has motion controls, lets take Kid Icarus(sorry if i misspelled name) for exmpleyou could shoot his bow with the Wii-mote and Nunchuck and seem like you really shot an arrow. As forremakes for 3d games im guessing its just for the motion controlsHelp Me Understand The Logic Behind This

There seems to be little logic behind it. Perhaps these people who want remakes are different from the people who want to stop ports? Either they are different or they just jump onto both bandwagons.
Usually when someone says ''an old port'' they mean an old game that no one likes is being ported to Wii with crappy controls. But when someone says ''remade'' they mean built from the ground up. For example if someone wants a like to the past remade, it would be built from the ground up for the Wii.Port usually means: bad graphics, sloppy controlsRemade usually means: good graphics, good controlsThe thing is I don't think any game has really been remade on the Wii..
I think people need to ask for Remakes of games. Nintnedo just keeps on making them. Ask yourself how many Mario games and Zelda games are out there? They are all very simlair from each other with small changes.
remakes or not are pretty much the same for me, i think nintendo should put more effort into building a solid wii ''good titles'' library instead of wasting time on oldies. dont get me wrong, i like oldies myself and i apreciate playing old games with the wii controllers, but i thik the core thing for the wii is to have good working new games first. because til now there is not much of them, in the exeption of a couple of titles like RE4 or Zelda TP... all the wii games are eighther for babies or are crap.

Yet people do complain about that and still want remakes, I guess we'll never really understand.
Ports don't bother me if they are made well and don't have tacked on Wiimote controls. Best example of a great port is RE4.
your definition of remakes is wrong zaku nintendo makes different games each time yea they all play almost the same but they each have totally different levels then each other a port or remake includes only the same levels or if it were extra levels to go along side the original levels like in super mario 64 ds
Well, if you're porting to the Wii, then you're porting from a system that has no motion controls. Often the transition from button controls to motion controls doesn't seem to work very well. Because of that, nobody really wants to see a ps2 game ported to Wii. Yeah, sometimes they're pretty good, but that seems to be the exception to the rule, rather than the rule.I'm not sure who is calling for remakes of games, it definitely isn't me. But I imagine they find those acceptable because they'll be designed specifically for the Wii's unique controllers. Obviously, that doesn't mean that the game will be good, but a game designed for the Wii probably has a better chance of being good than one that was originally designed for something else.
resident evil for the gamecube was an old game that was remade and it turned out great. if resident evil's 2 and 3 were remade with better graphics and different scenarios they would sell really well. ports usually are the result of nothing being changed, except for control settings. if silent hill were to be remade for the wii, i would buy it. some remakes would go really well.
Most games that developers bother remaking were good in the first place, and remakes take some effort. Ports are just quick cashins. Some ports are good, but many turn out bad. I don't think theres a big wave of people asking for remakes, but if they are its because of the Wii's control scheme. Many times when I play old games I think to myself it would be much better with IR shooting and some competent motion controls.
we want p;der games remade not brand new ports, older games are classics, and we want them to be better...for some reason
I really don't mind ports as long was it's a worthy title and the port is done well. As for remakes I don't really mind them either, same logic applied as ports. But I'd still take a new game over a port or remake anyday.
Hey, if it's a good game a port is always very nice, a remake is awesome... Think that it's a possibility of future generations enjoying the game that you enjoyed some time ago... And with remakes they make even the 'oh we need perfect graphics and physics for a good game' generation think about playing it for once..
Ports, remakes, whatever.Whatever you do, support new software on the Wii, most notably No More Heroes.
