Why are there no good FPSs on the Wii so far? I mean, the system was basically tailored for that kind of game. Apart from MP3(If you could even call it a true FPS), there seems to be no quality FPSs coming to the Wii. Can we blame this on lazy devs? Or will announcements come? I am really saddened by the availability of quality FPSs on XBOX 360(A system that's controller is not standout for controlling an FPS). Can anyone give me any info about this? Thanks for hearing me out. The State of the FPS on the Wii
Trust me theirs been many topics related to no good fps shooters on the WIi. Just wait for the E3 though im sure they will announce atleast one.The State of the FPS on the Wii
LBJ sucks and at E3 theyll announce something.....and theres been too many posts on ths topic why not complain about not enuf MMORPG's while ur at it
If Metroid Prime 3 lives up to its expectations it will rewrite the book on FPSs. Let's wait for it to come out.
Other than MP3,maybe Nintendo willannounce more FPS coming out for the Wii at E3. I certainly do not mean onrail shooters!!! (AlthoughRE:UC is shaping up nicely so far) I wander how Brothers in Arms will control? I hope Ubisoft does notmake the controls like Red Steel--I hope they learned their lessons. Other thanthat...I'm not aware of any other FPS, that are not on rails, for the Wii. I think developers are having a harder time than they anticipated in terms of adjusting FPS for the Wii. Maybe that's why it took MP3 all this time. Making a FPS may be harder than we think for developers.
Remember when the DS came out? ''Oh it's perfect for FPS games look at the controls on Metroid Hunters!!!'' Where are all the FPS games now? Well not on the DS! Lower your expectations to almost nothing and then what ever comes out will be icing on the cake!

i think a good shceme for controls would be having the ''box'' and if you aim outside the ''box your screen moves in that direction, but have the box really small, then have the control stick do the movement, but moving it left or right also moves the camera just a bit to make turning easier
FPS = the most overrated genre ever made. If you want to play them, go buy a good PC.
I think it's probably harder to make a FPS for the wii than we think.... The controls for the ones I've played (COD3 and Red Steel) have been very weird. Maybe if the c and z buttons moved you back and forth?
Bah I only see stupid games coming out... they say '' yeah shake the controller to make the boy scratch his head ''
Good games will come out in the future... we need to think like that because the wii can do better...
I'd blame it on lazy developers.
Anyway, there's more than Metroid Prime 3 to look forward to shooter-wise on the Wii. Battalion Wars 2, anyone? (Okay, that's third-person, but you're still pointing and shooting stuff with the Wiimote!)
If you want FPS so badly, go to the 360. Give the Wii time.
You may have read the preview in PLAY that said that Metroids controls are as revolutionary as Halo's were, it is because of Halo alone that the XBOX became the console for FPS. If Metroid lives up to this, it WILL guarantee alot of FPS games on the Wii, all of which may be exclusives...

Exactly...but ur sig baffles me...Ignorance is bliss...people are happier not knowing...
Metroid Prime 3 will set the standards for first person shooters on the Wii. All the petty developers have to do is follow the fluid and graceful control scheme that MP3 has to offer.
Any word on the multiplayer part of the game (if there is one)? Don't get me wrong though, I'm looking forward to the single-player on Metroid more than anything else. But if they pulled off an online multiplayer that would be pretty nice dont ya think? Anyways if MP3 lives up to the hype and sells a lot we'll probably see a lot more quality FPSes coming out for the wii.
Leta face it, all the FPS so far have been a waste of anyones time and money. If you are one of the people saying red steel is a good game then you must be forcing yourself to like it. I See no proof of the drought being about to change, maybe something will pop up at E3. Metroid looks like a gamecube game and i dons't see it as an all out shooter, more of an adventure game with shooting involved - and i think they have deleayed it because they have found it difficult to get the controls right. The Wii remote is interesting but i think it also puts up barriers for alot of games. I bought Mortal Kombat recently and without a doubt that game plays better with the classic controller than having to play with a wand.
